WELCOME

This blog is a product of my work which began in the Redwood Writing Project in the Summer of 2007. The purpose is to provide a framework to share findings with the teaching community on how to prevent plagiarism through curriculum design and how to detect plagiarism with technology.

After my personal observations, I concluded that it is easy to jump to the detection and penalty of plagiaristic acts, and I began to advocate that each of us as teachers must question our curriuculum design to set students up for success. This has been the emphaisis of my teacher inquiry for the past two years, and I will continue this inquiry with your input and help. Much of the material presented here has been developed over the last two years as I have developed and presented a RWP workshop for K-16 teachers of writing throughout Humboldt and Mendocino counties.
